The Early Days
A young Matthew Trent falls for the bench: jewelry class, an art teacher's nudge, silver work with a Navajo craftsman, then GIA. Hands trained early. Standards set high.
1980s: Dallas & Day One
Apprenticeship with a master diamond setter, then the leap: Matthew and Lori open the first shop on Turtle Creek. He builds at the bench; she builds the business. Approachable and exceptional from the start.
1990s: A House Style Emerges
Clients grow, kids play in the corner, and the Matthew Trent look takes shape. A flagship commission proves the studio can deliver at pace-concept to finished gold in weeks.
2000s: Art & Resilience
Encouraged to treat jewelry as art, the studio leans into texture, proportion, and sculpture. The 2009 downturn tests the brand; loyal clients and steady hands carry it through.
2010s: A Destination Studio
With momentum back, the 30-year mark ushers in standout one-of-a-kinds. Kiley joins in 2014. Recognized by Spectrum Editor’s Choice in 2019, the family studio becomes a destination people travel to see.
2020–2022: Reinvent & Refresh
Lockdowns spark ingenuity: curbside, e-commerce, and the soft launch—then official launch—of Our Favorite Daughter. The showroom is modernized, and Matthew sculpts the Linz Award, a prestigious Dallas civic honor, in silver.
2023: Thirty-Five & Forward
A VIP anniversary showcases a bolder design chapter—proof that the house can honor legacy and still surprise.
2024–2026: The Story Continues
Brand refresh, new packaging. Kiley marks ten years, and family celebrations continue. With a new website that brings the in-store experience online, we’re set for what’s next. And we’re just getting started.
